The race, organized by the Bombers de la Generalitat and the Obra Social de Sant Joan de Deu reaches its 8th anniversary and for the first time, opens the registration to one its most charitable categories. Save the date, we encourage you to join us this year in the Som Un Equip (We are a Team) category!
Vertical Montserrat is an individual race where participants climb the 2.180 service stairs next to the two funiculars of Montserrat, from the lower station of Santa Cova to the upper station Sant Joan. There is an 80 meter link section between the two funiculars with no stairs.
We want to increase the solidarity aspect of Vertical Montserrat, so we encourage you to inspire those around you to participate in category in order to collect more funds for Sant Joan de Déu’s child protection program. Grab a team up to 4 athletes to run on behalf of you company, sports club, school, Firefighter station, cause or organization.
Athletes must be over 15 years old. Athletes aged 10 to 14 may participate if there are at least two adults on the team. Minors must present an authorization signed by their parents or legal guardians.
You can register in two ways:
- Crowdfunding Campaign: Create an online fundraising campaign. Help your team raise 500€ through individual donations or fundraising activities. We’ll provide a platform making it easy! Once you have hit the target, we’ll ask for your athlete names
- Direct Donation: Make a 500€ direct donation , which is tax deductible up to 40% for corporations, you can then directly register your names.
At the moment registration is only open for the We are a Team (Som un Equip) category.
Year after year, the race has become a recognized and anticipated sport event, growing in inclusion, while also serving as a major solidarity event benefitting children at risk attended by Sant Joan de Deu. It belongs to Bombers amb Causa project.
This event is co-organized by Bombers de la Generalitat and the Obra social de Sant Joan de Deu, with the support from FGC, the Montserrat Abbey and the Patronat de la Montanya de Montserrat, among other sponsors and collaborators.
Vertical Montserrat is part of the National Vertical Race Circuit (CCV).
