Vertical Montserrat 2026

The Vertical Montserrat is a solidarity race completed individually, where the runner has to climb the service stairs located between the two Montserrat funiculars, from the lower station of the Santa Cova funicular to the upper station of the Sant Joan funicular. Between the two funiculars, there is an 80 meters long connecting section without stairs.

The Vertical Montserrat is part of the National Vertical Racing Circuit.

Solidarity

All the benefits of the race, the challenges and the associated activities will be added to the Bombers amb Causa initiative, which allocates the proceeds to different research projects on childhood diseases and to care programs for children at risk that the Obra Social Sant Joan de Déu performs in the different hospitals and centers managed in Catalonia.

Inclusive

Vertical Montserrat aims to contribute to the inclusion of people with different disabilities through the practice of sport. For this reason, the Inclusive category was created, a modality in which, year after year, we have the participation of more athletes. The race was awarded, in 2019, at the First Premis Inclusius de l’Esport Català gala.
